Book: Nomad by Sibella Court

7 Nov

This looks like an interesting book to pick up for the holidays.  Sibella Court is an Australian interior stylist and owner of shop, The Society Inc in NSW.  Nomad is a collection of photographs of travel shots and styled spaces to show how to bring your travels home with you and incorporate your finds into your decor.  I love Sibella’s work.  To me, her rooms look contemporary, care-free, and ”well-lived” as she expertly combines pieces from around the globe and employs her skill and creativity in layering, clustering and styling spaces.  A very “Anthropologie-esque” aesthetic meets, antique market/flea market chic. The book, Nomad, will be available on Amazon November 23 and can be pre-ordered here.  To read more about Sibella and her experience, there is a really good interview on website The Design Files.

lox and savvy

20 Jun

Australia based stationery company, Lox and Savvy is turning out some creative and bright paper goods.  No one is doing flourescent right now except Lisa, who does it very well.  I love her choice to combine geometric shapes with bright neon colours.  Lisa, the creative energy behing Sydney, Australia based Lox and Savvy is inspired by 60s + 70s furniture and design objects and applies a dash of 80s when it comes to colour.  To hear more from Lisa’s inspirations, read her interview here.  Can’t wait to see what comes out next!

lolly pop shoes: bloch

5 May

Super cute shoes for the summer by Sydney, Australia based company, Bloch.  They come in all the cool lolly pop flavours and are two toned and candy coloured.  Love them.  They also look very comfy for the office or a night out.

Aussie Design: Dinosaur Designs

19 Feb

Great colour, great design, great materials is how I would personify Dinosaur Designs, an Australian design success story.  Started by three  students from Sydney, Australia’s, City Art Institute, back in the 80s. The team of three have been going strong with their resin designs and have expanded their stores internationally.

In my humble opinion, Dinosaur Design plates and candle holders would look great on anybody’s table, if your budget can afford the price.
